The same written chord name transposes the same way for guitar, piano and ukulele. You do not need to choose an instrument. This tool changes chord names; use your own fingering reference and check the new key on your instrument.
Questions about transposing chords
What if I do not know the original key?
Use Semitones. Raise or lower all written chords by one semitone at a time, then try the result on your instrument.
Will my lyrics change?
Lyrics are kept as text. Automatic recognition can be ambiguous, especially on a line containing only A or C. Review detected lines and mark them as Lyrics when needed.
What is a slash chord?
G/B is a G chord with B as its bass note. Both the root and bass move by the same interval. In C6/9, the 9 is part of the chord suffix.
Can I transpose a song in a minor key?
Yes. Choose Minor in key mode and select both keys, or use semitones. Major and minor chord qualities are preserved; this does not turn a major song into a minor song.
Can this change audio or play my song?
This tool transposes written chord names. It does not change recordings, reconstruct melodies or play audio.
How do I print or save a PDF?
Choose Print / Save PDF, review the paper size and paired phrases, then use your browser’s print dialog. PDF saving depends on your browser.
Is my chord sheet uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in this browser. Whisflo does not automatically save your sheet. Browser form recovery may behave differently. Optional usage counts contain no lyrics, titles or chord sequences.
Does it support ChordPro?
It supports common bracketed chord sheets and a limited set of metadata directives. Multiple key changes, custom definitions and unsupported directives need to be removed or handled in separate sections.
